We are very excited to congratulate the latest Health Care Hero, Giulia Pezzente, a registered nurse on the 6th floor at Lions Gate Hospital. Congratulations!!
After a North Shore resident made a donation to the Foundation specifically naming Giulia as his Health Care Hero, we were pleased to recognize her for her outstanding level of care and service to our community. Giulia was presented with a Health Care Hero pin and recognition letter.
We asked Giulia a few questions about her career and here’s what she had to say:
I decided to become a nurse shortly after finishing an undergrad in health sciences at SFU. I have always been concerned with the well-being of others and nursing seemed like a natural step for me to take. I’ve been working at Lions Gate for almost two years now – first on the general surgery ward and now as an OR nurse (in training). Working with patients on a daily basis has been such a wonderful experience for me. I have been able to appreciate the uniqueness of individuals and their personal health/life journey. Knowing that I have been able to help someone in one of the most difficult times of their lives is a humbling yet gratifying experience. I am so grateful that I have always been surrounded by an amazing team of RNs and other members of the healthcare team who have been reliable and supportive throughout my career.
Honour a Health Care Hero
You can recognize your hero by making a donation in a staff member’s honour and say thank you for the important work and care that was provided. Your hero will receive a special Health Care Hero pin and letter of thanks for a job well done from Lions Gate Hospital Foundation.
