Smart Pumps Campaign
The 'Smart Pump' technology has become the new standard of care for all patient infusion pumps as it uses Dose Error Reduction Software (DERS). DERS technology limits the dosage of drugs that can safely be infused into a patient, preventing the risk of human-error which is inherent in the delivery of medication. Replacing the current infusion pumps with 'Smart Pumps' at LGH will contribute significantly to increased safety and better patient care. LGH will be the first hospital in the region to implement the full capabilities of DERS technology and will provide these pumps to every patient.
