Ron Barré grew up in the Fraser Valley. After graduating from High School in 1960 he spent 4 plus years with the Bank of Montreal.

In 1964 he accepted the position as General Manager, Vancouver Ticket Centre. In 1967 he married Ann and they moved to the North Shore. In 1973, he became the majority shareholder and CEO of Vancouver Ticket Centre. Along with his brother, they built the company into a nation wide enterprise with 9 offices and 800 employees across Canada that eventually became known as Ticketmaster Canada.Ron retired from Ticketmaster in 2001. He has served as a director on the boards of Science World, Ballet BC and the Hollyburn Country Club.

He has served on the Vancouver Symphony Society and Playhouse Theatre Company Marketing Boards and the "Save the Stanley" Theatre Committee. Ron and his wife, Ann and 3 daughters continue to live on the North Shore.
